Dr. Hayden is a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice, as well as a research psychologist with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Dr. Hayden completed her pre-doctoral internship at the UCLA Clinical Research Unit at Camarillo State Hospital and Developmental Center, where she also completed a post-doctoral fellowship in psychiatric rehabilitation. Dr. Hayden has extensive experience as a treating professional and in providing consultation to professionals serving individuals diagnosed with a wide array of mental, intellectual, and developmental disabilities. In addition to her research, Dr. Hayden works nationally with the VA training clinicians in the use of evidence-based practices. Locally, Dr. Hayden works with seniors, especially those challenged with memory loss and their caregivers, and is a supervisorial appointee to the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging. Dr. Hayden is regularly invited to talk or give workshops on issues affecting seniors, brain injury, and topics associated with her research.
